Fatesworn is an expansion, not a full sequel title, so the customizable ability trees, fast-paced combat, and non-combat exploration-oriented abilities that Amalur veterans are familiar with are all still present. All of the core mechanics of the game remain unchanged. The DLC picks up from the end of the main campaign of Kingdoms of Amalur, meaning players will need to complete the game before diving into the new content that starts where the original story left off.Īmalur's Fatesworn DLC provides a decent follow-up campaign, but its greatest strength is simply that it is more Amalur, offering players a final quest for their high-level Fateless One. Fatesworn was developed by Kaiko and published by THQ Nordic, the same group behind the Re-Reckoning version of Amalur. Apparently more camera options were adding in this version too.The Fateswornexpansion for Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a somewhat unusual product, as new DLC for the 2020 remaster of a game originally published in 2012.

The camera in the original was also awful, and to get any decent FOV you had to use a widescreen mod that tended to add too much fisheye. Looks like that aspect at least was improved. IMO, the combat/customization was the game's only saving grace and the balance was very poor in the original. Very Hard sounds like it will be somewhat slow going until you can start forging gear, and then maybe actually balanced. Hard was already easy, but became broken once you could start forging your own gear. Reading over the changes to the level scaling of zones (it used to lock zones at the level you entered usually, which made them horribly easy if you entered at a lower level, but then gained a few levels while there) as well as the loot from chests (they used to lock to your level as you entered a zone for the first time, but now randomize to your current level when you open them) this sounds like the game might actually be a lot better balanced even on the Normal difficulty.
